The Arizona Performance Lab, led by lab director Kristen Renner, PhD, was one of eight teams awarded seed-grant funding by the University of Arizona Health Sciences Sensor Lab for research projects that show potential for new sensor technologies or applications.

A research team including Zong-Ming Li, PhD, vice chair for research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and associate director of the UArizona Arthritis Center, was awarded a $2.1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to explore predictors of knee pain and functional limitations.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers awarded professor and vice chair for research Zong-Ming Li, PhD, the 2022 Savio L-Y. Woo Translational Biomechanics Medal, honoring individuals who has help move bioengineering science from the lab into clinical practice.
