Patient Care
As the only orthopedic team in Tucson whose doctors are also leading researchers and educators, we offer the most thoughtful, advanced, evidence-based non-surgical and surgical orthopedic care in Southern Arizona.
Our patients range from everyday adults and kids to competitive athletes, including pro, college and high school sports teams.

Residency Program
Established in 1973, the UArizona Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program today has 100+ alumni.
Our 5-year program accepts 4 applicants per year and is built on rotations of 2 - 3 months, giving residents continuity of patient care and time to build meaningful relationships with their physician mentors.

Research
Building on the pioneering work of Robert Volz, Donald Speer and John Szivek, our research today encompasses biomaterials, biomechanics, hand and wrist, sports medicine, foot and ankle and anatomic studies.
Our Department maintains 4 research labs, and much of our work is done in partnership with the University of Arizona Arthritis Center.
