Dr. Jason Lowe Recognized with 2025 Jeff Mast Educator of the Year Award

Dr. Jason Lowe, Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona, has been honored with the 2025 Jeff Mast Educator of the Year Award by AO North America. This prestigious accolade, presented at the One AO 2025 conference in Henderson, Nevada, acknowledges his outstanding contributions to orthopaedic education and his unwavering commitment to advancing the field of trauma surgery.

Dr. Lowe's innovative approach to teaching, particularly through the integration of virtual fracture templating exercises, has significantly enhanced the learning experience for trauma surgeons worldwide. His project, titled “Virtual Fracture Templating Support Basic Principles Course Curriculum,” aimed to provide interactive, cognitive, virtual pre-course templating exercises, advancing the educational impact of the AO Trauma Course—Basic Principles of Fracture Management. This initiative set a new standard for interactive learning in orthopaedic education.
