How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the University of Arizona – Tucson Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. We are committed to selecting outstanding candidates who share our dedication to clinical excellence, academic growth, and advancing the field of sports medicine.

    Application Process for 2027 Fellowship

Our fellowship is ACGME-accredited and participates in the San Francisco Match (SF Match). All applicants must apply through the SF Match Central Application Service (CAS) https://sfmatch.org/specialty/orthopaedics-fellowship/CentralApplicationService.

Application Requirements:

- Completed SF Match application

- Current CV

- Personal statement

- Three letters of recommendation (including one from your residency program director)

- USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 scores

- Medical school transcript

- Recent photo

Eligibility Criteria:

- Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopaedic surgery residency program in the United States or Canada prior to the fellowship start date

- Eligibility for an unrestricted Arizona medical license

    Application Timeline

- Applications Open: August 1, 2026

- Application Deadline: October 31, 2026 

- Interview Invitations: Sent on December 1, 2026

- Interview Dates: Typically between January and March

- Match Day: April 14, 2026

Selected applicants will be invited to visit Tucson to meet our faculty and current fellow, tour our facilities, and learn more about our mentorship-based rotation model and the breadth of clinical experience we offer, including advanced sports medicine procedures and complex shoulder arthroplasty.
