Francisco Espinoza Has Been Nominated to Receive the University Fellows Award

Francisco Espinoza is a dedicated researcher in the Human Movement Biomechanics Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher Arellano, within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. As a University Fellows Award recipient, Francisco will receive funding to support his first year in the PhD program in the Department of Physiology. His research explores human locomotion, gait, and rehabilitation strategies. Currently, Francisco is investigating how mechanical manipulation of the body can influence the responsiveness of the spinal cord during walking, with the future goal of improving locomotor training outcomes for individuals recovering from a spinal cord injury.
