Noopur Basu, MD

Noopur Basu hails from Charlottesville, VA, and was drawn to the UArizona Sports Medicine Fellowship for the diverse range of sports coverage it offers, including the worlds of rodeo, mixed martial arts, boxing, and Muay Thai or “Thai boxing” – a stand-up combat sport built on strikes not only with fists but also elbows, knees and shins.

As she continues her professional journey, Noopur is looking to continue work in emergency medicine, incorporate clinic days into her routine and provide ringside care at fights whenever possible. 

Outside her studies and work as a physician, Noopur loves weightlifting and tennis. Time off goes to the simple pleasures of life: sleeping in, whipping up her go-to breakfast of eggs and avocado toast with salmon, working out, spending time outdoors (a fan of the Tucson weather and scenery) and playing with her doggo besties.
