Biography

Dr. Hardy is a native Tucsonan. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Mexican American Studies and a B.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology. She earned her medical degree and completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the UofA College of Medicine. She finished her training with a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of Utah. She is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with a Certificate of Advanced Qualification in Sports Medicine and has been in practice since 2011.

Dr. Hardy’s clinical interests include the care of athletes of all ages. She manages shoulder, knee and ankle injuries in pediatric, collegiate, adult and senior athletes, and enjoys taking care of “Weekend Warriors” as much as she enjoys helping high-level athletes. She is an orthopaedic surgeon for the University of Arizona Athletic Department as well as the Head Team Physician for the Pima Community College Athletic Department. She has been a team physician for Tucson Roadrunners Hockey and for community events such as Desert Diamond Cup Professional Soccer Tournament and Fiesta de los Vaqueros Rodeo. She carries over her “Team Doc” mentality to her care of all patients; she believes in a team approach to patient care that places the patient as captain of the team with her as a coach coordinating treatments and other care providers to help play for the win-improved pain and quality of life.

Her other clinical interests include treating degenerative orthopaedic conditions-ie. knee arthritis, rotator cuff disease, etc. and common orthopaedic fractures.

She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the University of Arizona College of Medicine and continues to teach and mentor residents, medical students and undergraduates. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

She is the daughter of a nurse and a carpenter and decided that to fill both her parents’ shoes she’d blend the two and became a surgeon. She and her husband, Tracy, are both native Tucsonans and enjoy hiking, fishing, camping and anything else in the great outdoors. She also enjoys riding her horse, baking pies, building stuff and tending her beehives..
